Management of International Health and Safety

NEBOSH has updated the International General Certificate for 2026. The old IG1 unit is now referred to as GIC1: Management of Health and Safety, while the management syllabus still focuses on the core areas of health and safety justification, management systems, risk management, people, processes, monitoring, investigation, audit and review. NEBOSH confirms that the qualification is assessed through GIC1/IG1 open-book examination and GIC2/IG2 practical risk assessment, and that the management unit covers Elements 1–4.
